Also keep in mind that political education is very poor and even with all the get out to vote campaigns we have, people still don’t know how to do it or when often. Only people with really cushy salaried jobs who can take time off whenever ie rich people in management. I have a salaried job and I am lucky enough to live right near somewhere where I can vote from 5-6 pm, but I have a friend in Houston who is a teacher who can barely squeak by going home from his job for his polling site at 5 pm.
