I’m not that old and you are misreading grandma and myself. She just stitched a wise English proverb. The mischievous thing was to put the stitch in the bathroom, haha. It’s a warning, not a threat. Life is rough and unfair. Many people don’t think twice to walk all over others for their own benefit. The young are innocent and tend to be naive, unaware of the dangers others may pose. I don’t want to do as the proverb says, I would like to do as the grandma does.

Take kids for example. Even small children can do the sweetest thing for you, yet leave you horrified. My youngest gave me one of her old, messed up toys to “keep me company” while I was in the toilet.
