I also agree with the people who say that we won’t be able to get any significant healthcare reform passed in this country with the current state of Congress. If Republicans remain in control of the Senate, we’re probably fucked no matter who wins the Presidency. However, the solution to that problem is not to give up and throw your hands in the air. If you really want Congress to become more progressive, then you have to go the polls and vote for people who share your beliefs. You have to go out to knock on doors and campaign for progressives. I don’t think that Medicare for All will be passed in the next 4 years, but if we keep pushing for it by sending more Progressives in Congress, I do believe that we will get there eventually.

Honestly, he is probably the most peaceful president we’ve ever had. He repaired relations with North Korea and has been actively pursuing peace in the Middle East. His killing of Solemani and Baghdadi was an amazing thing. He also made medicinal drugs sooooo much more affordable. Many people are paying a fraction of what they originally used to pay and they can finally afford to pay for medication.

Trump has not gotten into a missile exchange with North Korea. Just the opposite, he has facilitated diplomatic talks between the leaders of the peninsula. Moon Jae-in even recommended Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize back in 2018. Even if that’s merely an offhand comment, it’s quite a compliment. Now, lasting peace cannot be orchestrated by the US alone (certainly not by one POTUS), but it is a step in the right direction.

We have generally disengaged from the Middle East. After expending tons of blood and treasure on costly, endless wars, we are finally starting to bring the troops home. On that note, a peace deal was struck between Israel and the UAE not long ago.

I too believe in American exceptionalism for many reasons. #1 being, there’s never been a country like America. America was the innovator of this great experiment of freedom.
