I worked at Best Buy for Thanksgiving 2015. Had to be at the store at 6 PM  Thanksgiving Day, and worked till about 1 AM Friday morning. Then had to be back up at the store at 10 AM. It was cold and raining Thanksgiving night, but there was still a line of customers wrapped around the store waiting to get in.

Walmart needs to get rid of the impulse items in the middle of their aisles and let people walk through their store with a bit of space.

I hope they just have it on Friday. People can shop, employees get the day off, win-won. Black Friday is actually part of my family’s Thanksgiving tradition and it’s always loads of fun. We’re the type of people who don’t like online shopping so we like the silly Lil deals we get on that day.

I think this has more to do with Covid-19 and trying to minimize crowds than Walmart letting their workers have the day off or them feeling stores should close on holidays for altruistic reasons.

Of course, all religions have this stuff. I’m sure if I wanted, I could dig up all kinds of biblical laws that this pastor regularly breaks. I get that lots of people are victims of bad ideas. Not only that, I can excuse people who express bad ideas. Especially when they were effectively brainwashed into believing those bad ideas. But I can’t excuse bad conduct that flows from those bad ideas. Regardless of whether it is gay-bashing because of god or terrorist attacks because of Allah. There is no excuse for harming other people because you were indoctrinated.

However, her opinions on the matter have absolutely been influenced by the opinions of her father. Since children are so impressionable, she had no choice but to listen to her dad seriously and think the same things at some point. And that’s why I feel bad for her. Her opinions on the subject are there because of the opinions of her parent. And she is suffering because of it.
