Oh my god! I have not been satisfied with a single thing I have ordered from wish. It has all been either too fragile, too small, or completely different than what was shown in photos. Don’t trust the reviews, it mostly reviews from other products or websites. I’d like to find something good from that website one day. How the fuck does Wish even exist still? It’s abundantly clear (if you watch Youtube) that it’s almost entirely a scam, knockoff, parallel import, or pre-production sample.

Sounds like the makings of a GoFundMe scam, “I’ll buy a shitty wedding dress off the internet, post pictures of it on Facebook about being ripped off, and people will start a GoFundMe page and donate so I can buy a real dress!”EVERYONE knows they’re getting ripped off when they buy something off Wish. Wish needs to he shut down as a company full of scammers, liars, and false advertisers. There are laws against all of their practices in every state they “operate” in.

I’ve had people call in crying & throwing a hissy fit as if it’s our fault they decided that cheaping out on a $300 wedding dress from a Chinese website wasn’t sus AF. While I sometimes sympathize with customers in these situations, most of them just want to unleash their bridezilla fury on us once they realize we can’t just “give a refund” (can’t refund money that’s been removed from the beneficiary account, criminal activity is a police matter).

I even had one lady straight up tell me she was “like…90% sure” it was a scam but thought we could just “put the money back” if she didn’t get the dress in the photo. She learned a hard lesson that day. These people don’t even reverse image search the item before buying it. When we go through the evidence, it’s almost always a stolen image of a gown worth 20k+, or a gown that was part of a photo shoot, runway show, or art gallery that had never been available for sale. We contact the artist if we can, so they’re aware that someone is selling a scam version of their product. They’re rarely surprised.

Yeah, I bought a rope plant hanger off there for $11, super sturdy, and probably the exact same as the $30 ones I kept finding. Simple things can work on there, but anything substantial- you’ll get what you pay for’ve had friends try to get me to use it. “It’s fun! It doesn’t work, but whenever I opened the battery panel, this white powdery stuff came out, and now I can’t stop coughing! I can’t even imagine having nothing better to do with my time and money than buy a piece of shit, that I know will be a piece of shit, at the cost of not just my money, but the huge amounts of carbon that went into producing and shipping what is essentially fancy garbage.

This is how I used it. I’ve bought paint brushes, gel pens, some nail stamping plates, but never anything huge, and I never really had issues. But I also haven’t ordered from there in quite a while so not sure if it’s changed a lot. Seems like craft and hobby type items aren’t so much of an issue, as that’s been my experience as well. I bought an ultralight portable camping chair from there last year for £10 delivered, and it’s pretty much indistinguishable from the original it was ripped off from, which costs around £80. Probably made in the same factory.

I love buying from the wish, but I only buy fairly simple items. You can get really good deals on a lot of stuff. The problem is that people are expecting to buy iPhones and name-brand goods. Do you want to buy a pocket knife for $1? Sure, and it’s nice and sharp and decent quality. Want to buy AirPods for $10? You’re going to get a vial of herpes.

If you’re willing to accept a higher risk of duds and have the time to spend hunting through listings, you can save a lot of money buying from sites like that. I think for most people it’s worth it to buy it from the store as it is way easier to exchange, and easier to see what you are actually getting, but sometimes it really is worth it to roll the dice on Wish.com

I used to work down the street from a, now bankrupt, store that sold a lot of crappy knock-offs. The owner would tell people the reason to buy from him instead of buying online was that he offered “free” lifetime replacement. He charged between 5 and 10 times what he paid from the same vendors he warned about, and he knew most people would give up after the first one or two replacement pieces of junk.

On the rare occasions that I do order, I order stuff that is very difficult to screw up like organizer containers. But I would never order anything that requires actual consideration of design in the slightest. Wish is great for cheap shit. You could pay twice as much for the same item off of Amazon, or wait a few weeks for it to ship directly from the original Chinese warehouse amazon gets it from lol but anything over $10 isn’t worth it

Depends on what you’re looking for. Never in a million years would I get clothes or electronics from Wish, but have bought a bunch of tabletop supplies, dice, trays, tokens, etc. from them and they’re decent quality and a ton cheaper than you’d get from a hobby store. Yeah, a lot of stores buy the exact same products you get on wish or AliExpress or Taobao, do a tiny bit of QC to knock out the worst of the duds, and then sell them to you with a huge markup.
