Of course, there’s gonna be some bitter people who have quarantined for months and worn masks this whole time who are sick and fucking tired of these people disregarding everyone’s safety so their knee-jerk reaction is to say “yeah good, fuck him”. My neighbor across the cul-de-sac is one. He is a decent enough guy but he was very arrogant about this being “a lie to control us” wouldn’t listen to reason, wouldn’t consider he might be wrong at all. That’s far too common. So much certainty and arrogance with very little actual information. the lockdown protests occurred over less than 3 YouTube videos and a handful of commentators……that’s it….it made it so that three guys in Jacksonville Florida could get people to ignore doctors and experts just on the internet fabricating fake gun organizations. Like 20 hours total of minimal effort.

Anyway, long story short about my neighbor, three weeks ago an ambulance showed up at 9 p.m. and pulled his wife out of the house gulping like a goldfish out of the water, he’s been very quiet since, but hasn’t shown any sign of being actually effected. Thankfully his wife lived, but my hopes that this extreme arrogance can be broken by even the threat of the death of loved ones are not high. This is going to do more and more damage to this country as time passes, and it may well be the thing that breaks it. Plain old stupid arrogance and spite, we’ve already shown that when the next crisis hits, we are more vulnerable than ever and probably will not rise to meet it.
