I think it’s interesting how often we miss what the Three Fifth’s Compromise really guaranteed. It provided more representation to slave-owning states by assigning their delegate count in the House of Representatives based on a count of their population of “free Persons” plus three-fifths of their population of “other Persons” which is really just a poor euphemism for “Enslaved Human Beings” since it didn’t count Native Americans who didn’t pay taxes or indentured servants.
