In layman’s terms, larger animals take longer to clear out a mass/ mass amount of venom, and therefore, even if you don’t consider other reasons, if you think of a human as a really big mouse when computing the dose it would take for a snake to kill us your estimate would be off. Probably too high, but other factors can affect it too.

for those interested in venom pharmacokinetics this is a decent paper on the subject… but it’s more focused on a pharmacokinetic expert take of venom than vice versa. It downplays the complexity of venom and categorizes them at times as simply, a neurotoxin, cardiotoxin… etc… when anyone snake may have dozens of neurotoxins if it presents a neurotoxic effect in impacted animals.
