Despite Beth’s attempts to destroy her own life, in the end, she manages to pull through. I liked that by the end of the movie it seemed like she finally, finally was at peace with herself. I thought the French song played during the montage in Episode 4 or 5, Tut tut tut tut was a new song with an old ice cream parlor feels to it. It was actually recorded in 1963. The soundtrack to this series is just brilliant.

I feel like several Netflix shows have been doing that. The Principal in The Politician is hard-of-hearing and has difficulties with enunciation, but it has nothing to do with the character arc. There’s also a kid who has Cerebral Palsy, and while it’s mildly significant at the beginning, he just develops into a “regular character” (though I put that in scare quotes because of he kind of ends up as a sort of heel/hero) where it’s part of his complex identity.
