I saw someone post on another thread that your vote is for the electoral college representatives, so in theory, it’s up to the party to decide who the actual candidate would be in that case. Not sure if that’s accurate or not…. There have been times in history where a candidate has died after ballots were submitted, but before they were counted. In at least one case the electors chose to count votes towards the dead candidates towards a party-decided candidate instead.
