My mom told me when I was older than the idea of Santa was about selflessness and generosity. It was never a thing to brag about anything in my family. Was brought up with the idea that bragging about anything was rude and ill-mannered. Santa always gifted the toys and fun stuff, parents the necessities. I continued that with my boys, they have grown up to be generous and compassionate men. Now my grandson is being raised by his parents with the same values.
