It is treated as an entry-level job and it really shouldn’t be. The work I do is not minimum wage work, the hours are extremely long and it’s incredibly taxing both physically and mentally. Potential candidates need to be held to a much higher standard than they currently are and training needs to be much more thorough. Chances are it’s not a nurse. More likely a home health aid or a personal care assistant etc… But it could be.
Drug diversion is a serious problem in nursing. It had to be at least an LPN in order to give meds. Report this to the nursing board, they will lose their license. The Nursing board does not mess around. I am a nurse myself, I personally know a few have lost their license doing either exactly this or something similar.
