I wish people would read. Greta isn’t riding on a boat for three weeks and telling you to do the same. She acknowledges that none of us are rich enough to just jump on a transatlantic yacht. The title of the post is literally:“…impossible to live sustainably today”.She is SHOWING us that this boat rich-person-only thing is the only sustainable way, and it’s IMPOSSIBLE for the rest of us to do it. Her whole protest is that it needs to change. Greta’s environmental footprint in the last year must be massive due to all the flights. If only there was a way she could speak at these events without physically being there.

I understand and respect the level of effort she went through to demonstrate how to travel after she came under such scrutiny from people denying climate change auditing her travels and means – often incorrectly. I just feel that an act like this that redeems her amongst her peers won’t be witnessed by her critics. Which is very sad, given her end goal. Imagine still thinking the real debate is about whether climate change is real or not. People from both sides are guilty of this. The debate is what to do? One side thinks govt will have the answers and the other thinks the market will develop the solutions.
