Then on the flip side, you have people like my grandparents; married each other 3 months after meeting each other because they “just knew,” and still like 40+ years later they are as happy as ever and still deeply love each other. My uncle married his wife only 8 months after meeting and years later are still going strong. I went to Thanksgiving with my fiancée’s family seven months after we started dating. She went to Christmas with my family the following month.

We had already met some of each other’s extended families before that (grandparents, a handful of aunts/uncles/cousins). Parents and siblings were introduced after about a month. We also got engaged less than two months after Christmas. I’m guessing we’re not the norm but it does happen. (We’re in our mid-twenties if it matters). It´s the father´s job as a husband to organize a get-together himself to introduce them to the family.
