Out of curiosity, I would love more insight on what the nature of these questions is… like is it where do you work, or is it like how much do you make at your job? I like to use humor to deflect, so I’d probably say something like, “at least buy me dinner first! What is an “overly friendly” neighbor? Someone who tries to chat with you every single time they see you? If you find human interaction with someone to be weird or off-putting simply ’cause you don’t know the person, then maybe the problem lies with you, not them
