Anthems should be reserved for international events where you represent your country. I understand the need to respect where you came from but there are plenty of ways for Americans to do that without having to play the anthem at every sporting event. It’s always been ridiculous. They even played it before the morning announcements at my high school like wtf is even the point of that. It must’ve made all the non-American students super uncomfortable.
