That’s the thing about home care workers…there are good ones and bad ones. I used to be a home care worker but my back couldn’t handle it anymore. These are the ones that work for the agencies, that really do have any kind of license, they clean, give meds, and just watch over the patient. It’s the few that make the good ones look bad. I’m hoping that it’s not the assistant that we trust and it was one of the floats.
This is awful. One of my grandmother’s assisted living nurses was caught peeling the morphine pain patch from grandmas back, licking it, and then placing back on her skin. Grandma had been telling us something wasn’t right, but we thought she was paranoid Drugs are bad. Sadly, yes. Morphine has a relatively high oral bioavailability, so something like this would be easily abused.
