However, all of these “free” programs that the Dems offer: student loan forgiveness, universal healthcare, and now universal childcare are just too good to be true. The bottom line is they are not free and come down to taxpayer dollars. If I had the reassurance that my taxes wouldn’t go up significantly, then sure – Bernie 2020. But that’s just not the case. So child care is about 12k per year for one kid. The average person making 50k, having two kids, would need 24k in child care – way more than they pay in taxes. The majority of average workers (with a family) would be a net drain on the federal budget – how long is that feasible for?
