Multiple cars are the most logical scenario that I’ve seen for people dropping coverage. If your family owns two or more, you can drop coverage on all but one and still have coverage and the ability to get around as needed, but still, be paying less while you don’t actually.
Unless something changed I thought you were required to have insurance as long as the car is registered. Anybody canceling a policy, especially on a car that is on a note is setting themselves up for a lot of trouble.
