This guy was arguing that even though the instructions were not explicit that “every blank space must be filled out” the election code allows them to be thrown out as invalid.

Writing your address on the back of the envelope instead of the front of the envelope when the envelope itself has a bar code preprinted that includes the elector’s address, is not a good enough reason to be excluded from the democratic process. Not sure what jurisprudence exists for this, but I could well imagine that such election rules could be found overly restrictive and the votes would be counted.
