Ugh. This makes me sad but it’s really true. I work as a nurse and know an MD who got fired for telling people they were fat. Look, I know respect and bedside manner are important but we have to be able to tell people the truth about their weight and the risks associated with it.
Also, the equipment, like MRI and other imaging machines, needs to be kept cool to function properly. A hospital room where patients stay is not as cold as a room/area where there is testing equipment. That’s because of the equipment and sanitation. Most monitors and anesthesia machines require a certain temperature. Same with radiology. That’s why you’re tossed 40,000 warm blankets.
