This. While divorce is hard for a kid, growing up with unhappy parents is miserable. My childhood friends who grew up with divorced parents are a whole lot more stable and better off than I am after I agree, my parents ruined my childhood/teen years & now that they’re divorced my younger siblings have a better shot at having what I didn’t have. I’m jealous of people who’s parents actually like each other.

My parents didn’t afford me the luxury of considering me in their divorce. I barely knew it was happening until two weeks before dad found somewhere else to live. Granted, he moved nearby so he could still be close to his kids, but within 6 months he met someone else and raised her kids instead. I haven’t seen him in 15 years. I am grateful for the divorce, is what I’m saying.
