Even when it’s just casual. That’s just not a level of intimacy I’m willing to share with someone who has not committed his life to loving and serving me (literally what the Bible requires of husbands – I know we only ever hear about wives submitting to husbands lol). And the notion that you stay “pure” for your spouse is complete nonsense. That’s literally idolizing purity and your spouse, both of which are sins. Purity is only ever an act of worship to God, an expression of your acknowledgment of the truth of His Word. It is never transactional

I think we Christians too often get caught up in the rituals of religious practice and keeping up appearances, rather than focusing on our heart posture and the fruit we bear in our lives. There is sooooo much more to Christianity than sexual “purity.” There’s grace, truth, love, forgiveness, empowerment, fulfillment, purpose, community, service, anointing. I wish more people got to experience Jesus and life with Him the way He intended, instead of through the lens of deeply flawed Christians (myself included).
