I agree with you that he is always open for debate but the people that actually get a chance to square up with him are never prepared. The one-man I would love to see go against Ben in a professional debate is Kyle Kulinski, host of the YouTube channel “Secular Talk”. Kyle isn’t great and I go through phases where I really respect the work he does and other times I’m like “okay give it a fucking break. It would be great to see those two go head to head.

From the comment below the payment might be from a student group. I’d think the money they’re allocated is theirs to spend. If you give student groups money, it seems reasonable that they would be able to invite speakers and pay them if necessary. Student groups at the UMN receive funding from a pool of money paid by students(student services fee).
