Man, I remember when a bunch of Americans cussed me out for saying “it was called ‘impossible’ for Trump to win the election”. They claimed it was always known he would win and no one ever thought differently. I was like “man, this was just like 3 years ago and it’s a major part of how you got to where you’re at”.Americans purposely have a terrible memory. If they remembered, they’d have to accept accountability at some point. And the only thing worse than America’s memory is its handling of accountability.

It’s not just that. It has been happening for so long that most people don’t remember a time when the US was not fucking them over. It’s hard to be super cordial towards someone that has been hurting you all your life.
