Watching my dad die from pancreatic cancer made me decide to stop drinking. I personally think not drinking/smoking are good steps to take towards lowering your risk of pretty much any type of cancer. Now I get that look from people when I tell them I don’t drink. I don’t think hiding it from the public is “sad,” I think it was a rational and reasonable decision that ensured some peace for him and his wife in his final years. Few of us can really imagine what it would be like to share information about our colon with millions of people.
