Cotton is usually grown using genetically modified seeds for better productivity, which results in a higher price for cotton seeds, and a lowered profit for the farmers. (which has caused the death of 270,000 cotton farmers in India alone, since 1995) How does this make any sense whatsoever? GMO cotton is used for better productivity… which results in higher prices for cotton seeds… and lowered profits.
Here is another study published in Nature showing that GMO (industrial) cotton is better for the environment. Organic uses significantly more, and significantly more toxic, pesticides as a whole. Organic does not, and has not, ever meant no pesticides. It means no artificial pesticides. You know, the artificial ones we’ve engineered to to be highly targeted
