My husband developed a chronic illness after we got engaged. I was 28 at the time, and overnight he went from being a normal 31-year-old to using a cane. Doctors sucked, and it sucked the soul out of me, but I married him the same year and promised he’d never be alone in this. It’s nice to see other couples making the same commitment.
