Belgium has a few places at the seaside where you can receive a beach wheelchair. Think plastic and big rubber wheels. They even had assistants stationed there to help you in the chair. Makes for a fun afternoon with some people that often have never seen or felt the sea. Minnesota I hear is really nice. I was set to do a bunch of backpacking and camping there, but due to circumstances still had to cancel. I regret it because there likely won’t be much reason to plan that visit again.
I’d leave my wheelchair in my car (or off of the sand). I’d transfer into a beach wheelchair (big balloon tires, PVC pipe frame) and push myself/get help pushing down to the ramp. Then I’d roll down the ramp so I’m partially in the water. Then I’d just swim out of the chair and have someone pull the chair back onto the beach while I swim. Then repeat the process in reverse when I’m done swimming — easy peasy.
