The thing is, just because “no signs” were detected, it doesn’t necessarily mean there is nothing from that star system. It would require a lot of power to send out signals that are detectable from other star systems.

I would haphazard a guess that radio signals sent out from our planet with current technology would be undetectable from cosmic background radiation after a few light-years.
