Great ‘The American Dream’ story! It’s always nice to hear about someone who started out in a less than idyllic situation who knew what they wanted, who worked really hard to get it, and was rewarded for it by being able to achieve their goal! I live in a city with a large Hispanic community and I swear, by and large, they are some of the nicest and certainly hardest working group you’ll ever meet.
Some of the best students I have ever taught are the children of new immigrants. The parents are fully invested in making sure their children get a good education, they are respectful and they work hard!
