The main issue is the “I got mine, fuck you” mentality that exists. The days of Reagan and Trickle Down brainwashed people into this “everybody gets theirs” but as soon as there is talk of leveling the playing field, it’s “Fuck off earn it.” I’m Gen X and worked hard to get where I am at. But I still have empathy for those that don’t and possibly never can because of the tilted playing field.
