I’m 42. A few years ago I did a reset. I was unhappy with my life and made a lot of changes. My time was not wasted though. I would totally have done things differently if I could. But, that’s not possible. Realizing your life is not what you want it to be is very empowering. But, remember that making massive life changes is not easy. It takes work and commitment. At times I really questioned myself. I had to learn some lessons the hard way. One of the biggest lessons I learned is that I had not been being true to myself. I’ve always tried to do things the right way, not my way. All this comes back to potential. Even though I’ve always had more potential than I realized, I needed to go through some things to learn that.

Recognize that not everyone starts with the same conditions and takes credit for you have gotten to. For example, I go to the local marina and I see a hundred yachts worth $1M+ each and I think “Those yacht owners probably aren’t any smarter than I am. What advantages did they have or what decisions did they make in life that I didn’t?” That’s not really very healthy because life isn’t a competition, but it helps remind me of the headwinds I’ve overcome to get where I am, and I just presume those people started from a better place.
