This is what happens when people feed them. It’s illegal to feed alligators but some people do it anyway, usually tourists and drunks. Alligator brains are tiny and their entire focus is on eating and breeding. So if you feed them they don’t differentiate between food and your hand. At my grandparents (upscale-ish) retirement community, there’s a little pond… an alligator came out of it a while back and killed somebody. No thanks.
