I feel you girl. My husband is staying at home dad cause his wage was way less than childcare for a newborn. Older people think we’re well off for having a stay at home parent, they don’t understand how it’s cheaper than the alternative.

Childcare cost is simply too much. Full-time care where I live is $32k a year, which is not affordable for the majority of working-class folks here. We are a double income household, and cannot afford a second child because of this. I really hope we can get Bernie the nom, and then into the WH.

Or we just (barely) make it work on one income which is incredibly difficult. I’m the only stay at home mom in my inner circle of friends but we’re also still the only renters and we just bought our first family car last year. We buy all our stuff used and eat cheap. 2013 we started trying and my kid was done baking in 2014. I’m still afraid that I brought him into a world that’s already too far gone. But I try my best to make it better each day and hopefully his generation will get to love the life my parents lived growing up in the 60s and 70s.
