I see where you’re coming from but when you say something is political is that there are two sides that should be taken into consideration. FIA would then punish him to remain neutral on the issue. I would totally understand that. What I’m saying is that this is not the case. There are not two sides here. “Murderers should be arrested” is not polemic.

I don’t think F1 will be happy to openly choose sides on what is considered a political issue and what is not, or what is allowed and what not. It’s much easier/less dirty for them to not allow any statements at all rather than weigh every statement with the risk of getting bad PR for allowing/banning 1 statement/issue over the other.
