The fact that the physical part of the encounter even happened in the road is entirely the fault of the subject. Within twenty seconds of the restraints finally being put on, he was hoisted off the road and into the car.

Having someone restrained on asphalt in the sun in Phoenix in August is unimaginable cruelty. The cops didn’t murder that guy, they tortured him to death. They don’t deserve freedom after that.
