Unlike the BLM protests, we’re not fighting for anything here, Biden won, and if we just hunker down for the next few months, we may be able to start making progress against this virus, but that can’t happen when we do things like this. It’s bad enough that a good chunk of the population either doesn’t believe it exists or they’re constantly trying to downplay it. It’s funny how quickly my mood changed yesterday. I was watching TV in the morning and he won, so yay! Then, the news outlets start showing all these people literally in droves crowding the streets shoulder to shoulder and I started feeling more depressed and anxious until the end of the day where.
I just felt so exhausted and angry when it should have been a happy time instead. Even my Dad, who is the one member of my family who doesn’t take the pandemic as seriously as the rest of us do (even though, to give him credit, he did substantially better than I thought he would) is talking about how Biden’s inauguration crowd is gonna be way bigger than Trump’s and I outright told him it better not be. Sorry, I just needed to post this rant somewhere. I’m starting to feel like I’m going loony or something, not because I have to stay inside or practice the same safety measures
