Yeah as an avid fan and constant rewatch, there are very few times I start before season 2 and let it get past season 8. The first and last just aren’t anywhere near the quality of the other seasons IMO. They tried too hard to make a carbon copy with the first season, and the last just… ugh.S1 is one of my favorite seasons. Not my favorite, as the characters feel so different from the later seasons. But it definitely is painful to watch if you don’t enjoy cringe.

That Andy was terrible. The show would have been so much better if they would have just renewed Steve Carell’s contract. Although Michael’s departure was done really well. I thought Steve Carell left on his own accord because he was tired of the role? That was my understanding think it came out recently that he was never offered a contract and instead of asking for it or going to them asking for a renewal he just graciously bowed out.
