As a nurse, I can tell you that some of us relied on fast food and food delivery to live. We were working extra hours to help keep people alive and some medical staff didn’t even go home for weeks at a time to prevent infecting family. Fast food was life. I’d say that’s pretty damn essential.
I worked drive-thru at a fried chicken place and a bear going into, and during, the lockdown. I was told by my bosses and most all of my other co-workers that I didn’t need to wear my mask. I politely told them since I worked drive-thru and handled money I felt that I was at higher risk, but I felt truly most unsafe by my coworkers. I don’t know if this is true at other fast-food places, or also true about others.
