I wasn’t into Van Halen as much as some of my friends but “1984” was extremely popular with my graduating class (‘84) and it’s undeniably an important part of my history. The passing of Eddie feels like that moment at the end of the concert when the lights get turned all the way up to tell everyone to go home. It’s over! Time to leave!
