I think one overlooked factor in the persecution of the old religions was the fact that many of the victims were inconvenient women who had or stood to gain property/money as well as midwives and healers. Who were competition for the nascent profession of physicians? I was raised vaguely religious-ish. Mom’s Episcopalian and Dad are a lapsed Catholic agnostic. Religion was something we kids were encouraged to explore, but that wasn’t enforced in any way. So I went to a lot of different churches and temples with friends and found some value in many of them.
Do you practice Wicce/a? If not, do you still practice rituals, incantations, and such? -I started with Wicca and now am kinda taking what I’ve learned and just doing my own stuff. Spell work, rituals, meditation, that sort of thing but honestly mostly what I do is research stuff a lot. Were you raised religious (of any kind)? Yes I was raised by my mom who is very Christian. She doesn’t specify a denomination but I would call her evangelical. I ran from that as soon as I was able, always was drawn to witchcraft but still took me a while to get there after what Christianity had taught me.
