A small subset of the population is effectively working homeless and relies on restaurants for most of their meals. During the first lockdown, many restaurants chose to close or went out of business and a lot of my dinners were granola bars or going to bed early if I wasn’t near a store.

Which is why they are essential workers and should be paid as such. There needs to be a hazard pay or whatever we want to call it, bonus paid on every check during any level of lockdown. Restaurant and grocery workers too. And pay bartenders to stay home for fucks sake.
