The same will happen with UAE, assuming this trend continues long enough. The next generation will have their racy TV shows, they will have their own style of politically incorrect humor, etc. And, like clockwork, in a generation’s time, their culture will once against shift into something new and unrecognizable to the previous generation.

I genuinely expect we’ll see the relaxation of some laws against homosexuality or just more silent tolerance of it in UAE and other ME places like Oman, within my lifetime. I know young Muslim people there, most went to study university in the west and are super friendly with lgbt+ people. Reckon it’ll only take a generation or so.
