It sounds like the initial (knee-jerk) reaction was for all-out, brutal revenge. Now that they’ve had a couple of days to cool off, it sounds like they’re backpedaling from that sentiment. The Iranians have already said things along the lines of “we have no problem with the American people, and wish them no harm.” And now this, which is basically “we’re going to respond, but with nowhere near the atrocity of Trump’s actions.”

People act like this is all-new, it isn’t. We’ve fucked over Iran over the last 60-70 years consistently. Any hatred towards the US is the US Government doing. They are generally ALWAYS the more level headed of the two parties. They have MORE than enough reason to attack us, and they would be justified in doing so.
