I get the desire to compare this to some bad timeline fixed by a single person. But that’s wrong. The thing is, we did this. All of us. We righted matters ourselves. And that’s more powerful. It wasn’t Superman who saved the day. It was the citizens of Metropolis, taking up their own power to protect the land they love, uniting, and driving out a tyrant. Superman helped, but he’s not the man who drove out the charlatan–that’s a burden we bore. That’s the takeaway. Not Biden. Us. We’re the reason we’re on a better timeline. And every time, the candidate themselves isn’t the solution, per se. It’s the collective power we share that dug us out of this hole.
Those were brilliant speeches, it’s a wonderful thing to see professional and inspiring leaders again. President-Elect Biden, Vice President-Elect Harris, and the American people have well earned this night of celebration. I am excitedly looking forward to this presidency. Kamala and Joe both had amazing speeches tonight, but I truly underestimated how emotional it would make me to finally see a woman in this position. Also didn’t think I’d get teary-eyed seeing Kamala come out to Mary J Blige – Work That, but here we are
