I mean, I work medical and to take this stance is a bit… self-serving. I get they should be properly protected, but the world needs you. Would you give the same support to military members that abandon if they’re not given proper protection at all times? Sometimes it’s bigger than the individual. Again, not saying they don’t deserve it, but more just speaks to the person if they’d walk off during a pandemic like this I imagine treating people without protective gear is like diving in to save someone drowning. You both end up dying. Then when we have no doctors, who treat sick people after all of this passes?
Two hospitals were built from scratch in weeks. A sport center was converted into a hospital. A hospital supply factory went from 30k unit output to 300k unit output with 24/7 staff. Tens of thousands of Dr’s and nurses were shipped in. Here in the USA, we are doing our own shopping, driving around, some still going to non-essential work. Not ramping up supplies. Not doing a hard core quarantine. Not building new hospitals. And not brining in medical workers from unaffected regions to help quarantined zones. Not tripping up protection when working critical care patients. See how the NY Gov had to defend the use of materials?
