When we had a disagreement in the car. We were driving another couple home from an outing. Just his tone alone was enough for my friend to tell him not to talk to me that way. Her husband tried to hush her and she flipped saying she wanted out of the car right then. That opened my eyes. Having an outsider get upset at how he treated me, raised a red flag. A month later I called my mom and she came and got me cross country. I had thought we could work it out and we could go to therapy. But when he came to visit, he screamed at me while he was driving and that was the end. I won’t stand for that, from anyone.
