It would be one of those spots that get hit when they’re two-thirds of the way through a match and the camera pans out from their two lifeless bodies in the ring and shows a wide shot of the crowd’s standing ovation before they make it to their feet at the same time and start trading weary punches. Orton has been known to RKO the back of people’s necks before (Batista Bomb/RKO at Wrestlemania 30) so I could absolutely see this. The two greatest dropkicks in wrestling collide in the middle, creating a seismic blast that collapses the ring.
I remember I got downvoted like -15 for comparing Okada’s dropkick to Orton’s one day. Granted Okada’s is better, and Randy rarely uses them these days but was shocked so many people could be offended by the comparison. Like you said Okada’s is better, but my brain immediately thinking that Orton was the benchmark at first is telling of how comparable they are in that department. Obviously, flirting with leaving to have Vince throw a few hundred thousand dollars more at him is a valid strategy. AEW if the conditions were right. He gets to keep his name, has a good relationship. Cody would likely be free for public appearances and side gigs.
