Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, both in Brokeback Mountain. I thought of the former as the pretty boy from 10 Things I Hate About You and the latter as the star of the awful Bubble Boy. That film showed me a lot more depth from them both. Michelle Pfeiffer when she was trending today on Twitter! She’s good in everything but she absolutely killed it as Catwoman. My favorites are What Lies Beneath and Stardust.

He nailed his character in Uncut Gems so perfectly. Every little detail was perfect for that role of a sleazy salesman who is a wannabe high-roller. The way he is constantly talking so fast so you don’t realize most of what he says is bullshit, the gaudy jewelry, the slightly too-big suit he wears to the auction, somehow even the facial hair he had added to the persona. Uncut Gems is one of those movies I’d expect to hate if you just described it to me but somehow I love watching it.
